More than a dozen government websites were taken down by a group who call themselves the HighTechBrazil.

It was approximately after 8pm local time that @HackTeamBrazil posted tweets flaunting that they had hacked more than a dozen .gov.bn websites.

On their tweeter account links their website at http://bit.ly/LNZ49o. In it contains the lists of websites that got hacked down. Obviously they are international hackers who also went targeting the likes of Brazilian, Canadian and Russian websites.

Brunei included. Here are the gov.bn website lists below:

As a result, most of the website got a picture of a green-haired anime girl whom Aisamuddin Bms, one of our Bruneian Youths identified as Hatsune Miku. Also displayed were the words nos somas, which means Spanish for “We are,” followed by the words “Otrasher – no\one – Crazyduck” as you see at the above picture.

The E-Government, who are supposedly responsible for the national cyberspace are looking towards remedying the problem.

Personally, I wonder how much investment EGNC made onto the web security? Less than BND$1000? Where is the other millions budgeted towards their departments and ministries? Is spending the rest of our oil money into other unproductive factors i.e hiring slackers, lazy labours and making ugly buildings justify the need not to combat and protect the ever growing online threat?

If EGNC were alert enough on this matter, would it not have happened in the first place? If these kind of hackers like that of HighTechBrazil keep up with our incompetence, then what next? Telbru, DST, B-Mobile? Voice out today as a citizen who care in the comment section below.

I really wonder where does all those billions of dollers in budget goes to. and thats what the government is doing, hiring slackers and lazy labourers and people with no aims in life.Bruneians wont succeeced in life they have no aims in life.

This also reminds me of an another debate. We are treated as prisoners in schools.Mroe freedom in UNI, and then back to prison when we start to work for public sector.Like this raw talent will not be unearthed.

And your point is right, maybe less than a $1000 was spent on the site, how embarresing,And i know E government is supposed to be the E of brunei, the most advance electronic and it terms. Its a matter of time when an another hacker from abroad or locally plays a prank again and humuliation will follow
